In 2013 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm' was Hachette Australia's No. 1 Best Selling Children's Book and No. 4 throughout Australia.

The much loved nursery rhyme with an Australian flavour. Can you count the kookaburras as you read through? On the first spread there is one, on the second there is two, and so forth. How many are there in the entire book?

Illustrator insight: People often ask me where my inspiration comes from. A lot of the animals featured in this story are from my own farm. Cody and Piccy are real life characters - Piccy actually doesn't like apples but loves carrots, Cody loves apples... and carrots, plums, nectarines, strawberries, apricots and watermelon! In fact Piccy has to eat his carrots fast or Cody will steal them. The tractor, tank stand and bath are my neighbours, right down to the rock the cocky is perched on, and we really have a resident grey kangaroo on our place... she just turned up one day and never left. Inspiration is everywhere. Because of this, to date this remains one of my favourite books. Happy reading!
